ABOUT US
"Growing a community of people who love God and love others by cultivating deep roots and wide branches, and bearing much fruit."
Six Core Values
What we do may change with the times, but our core values remain constant. They underpin everything we do. They act as the soil from which the trees of the orchard grow. If the soil is good, the trees of the orchard will be able to grow deep roots and wide branches.

A worshipping community
We will place Jesus at the centre of our community; offering heart-felt worship, a call to authentic discipleship, and teaching that is faithful to God’s Word.
A sacrificial community
Our community will reflect the generous life-giving nature of God through sacrificial giving and service.
An inclusive community
We will offer welcome and love to everyone in our community; accepting and valuing every individual and enabling each person to experience God’s grace regardless of gender, language, race, class, age, sexual orientation and culture.*
A prophetic community
We will challenge worldly concepts of power, wealth, status and security both within our community and within the wider world.
A missionary community
We will engage with our locality and the wider world; sharing and expressing in word and action Jesus’s forgiving and healing love and inviting people to experience the love of God for themselves.
A praying community
We will place a high priority on intercessory prayer and seek to be a community led by the Holy Spirit.
* In 2023 the church agreed a Position Statement on the Inclusivity of Gay and Lesbian People.
Declaration of Principle
"That our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, is the sole and absolute authority in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and that each church has liberty, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to interpret and administer His laws.
That Christian baptism is the immersion in water into the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, of those who have professed repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ who ‘died for our sins according to the Scriptures; was buried, and rose again on the third day.
"That it is the duty of every disciple to bear personal witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to take part in the evangelisation of the world.”
